Large Scale Parallel Numerical Integration

چکیده
We present and analyze strategies which can be used for the parallel computation of large numbers of integrals which may be of diierent levels of diiculty. Paralleliza-tion on the integral level, which is generally used for large numbers of integrals, is combined with parallelization on the subregion level, which enables handling local integration diiculties within individual problems. This results in a new, hierarchical algorithm which incorporates load balancing on the integral level and on the subregion level. We report test results of the software and show that the hierarchical approach leads to a scalable integration algorithm.

Parallel Numerical Integration on a P2P/Grid Computing Environment
This paper presents a preliminary study of using MCMS-powered P2P technology to conduct parallel integrations which has been widely used in applied mathematics, sciences and engineering. In this study, we designed a system which allow migrate numerical integrations in a P2P/Grid based environment. The system’s client responses for a job scheduling, domain decomposition, and a data communication...
متن کاملA Parallel Architecture for a VLSI-Hardware-Realization
A hardware realization of the Simplex Method is represented. We customised the algorithm regarding numerical stability (arithmetics) and hardware proximity. The resulting hardware (VLSI custom chips, FPUs, RAM) of our accelerator is based on a parallel architecture with up to eight processing units.
متن کاملParsek2D: An Implicit Parallel Particle-in-Cell Code
A Particle-in-Cell (PIC) code, called Parsek2D, for the simulation of astrophysical and space plasmas is presented. Parsek2D enables simulations with large grid spacing and long time step, by means of implicit time differentiation and parallel computing. An implicit formulation of the PIC algorithm removes the severe numerical stability constraints of explicitly time-differenced PIC. Parallel s...
متن کاملConvergence of product integration method applied for numerical solution of linear weakly singular Volterra systems
We develop and apply the product integration method to a large class of linear weakly singular Volterra systems. We show that under certain sufficient conditions this method converges. Numerical implementation of the method is illustrated by a benchmark problem originated from heat conduction.
متن کاملProbabilistic design of power - system special stability controls 1
A probabilistic approach to the design of power-system special stability controls is presented here. Using Monte-Carlo simulations, it takes into account all the potential causes of blackouts, slow and fast dynamics, and modeling uncertainties. A large number of scenarios are simulated in parallel by time-domain numerical integration, and the relevant parameters of the resulting system trajecto...
